Breakfast. The most important meal of the day
How often do you skip the morning meal because you just don't have time? Take heart! We have a delicious oatmeal recipe for you that takes just 10 minutes to prepare!
Our friend Iram, of @Imsfoodstory over on the 'gram, has provided us with a quick, beautiful, and yummy way to get your day started off right! She has skinnied this recipe down to serve one, but it is easy to bulk up for more, and can easily be prepared ahead of time and reheated in 30-60 seconds in the microwave if your morning does not allow for cooking time.
It starts with oatmeal, bananas, and cacao. So it is hearty, healthy, and delicious! She has used our new farmhouse recipe sheets to organize the recipe, and doesn't it look beautiful?
Here's what you need and how to make it.
1. Ingredients
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup water or milk
2 tsp cacao powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
2 tsp maple syrup
1 banana, sliced
2. Directions
* In a small saucepan, combine oats, water/milk, cacao, vanilla extract, and salt. Bring to a boil.
*Reduce to a simmer and cook on low heat for 5-8 minutes, stirring frequently until all liquid is absorbed and oats are tender
*Once cooked, transfer oatmeal to a bowl, drizzle with maple syrup, and top with banana and any other toppings of your choice
*Enjoy!
